This update is a bugfix:

Fixed crash with system erosion, if starting point was smaller then 3. This crash does not always appear, but the lower the starting point, the more often it crashed.
The brush does not give equal results compared to the generation, when the system erosions were used. The flows were much deeper. Now the results are most equal.
Not a bugt: To set the limiter value, you now need the right mouse buttom and the alt-key. Moving a terrain and brushing was a bit nasty the old way.

This is the last update to version 1. Now the developement of version 2 starts.

Version 2 developement already, dang. I think your one of the fastest programmers that i know of. Anyways thank you for another wonderful update. :)

I voluntered to do some work for ME DEM so i am going to use GeoControl more often and see the power of these brushes as work. :)

We are all looking foward to seeing what version 2 has to offer.

Thanks for the update Johannes!

I've not had chance to look at it yet, and I can't seem to find the original Newsletter which described the new features. Ah, found it!
It's a shame that the -Slope is no longer available- that was a big help is flattening out areas of terrain. I used it in the article I wrote. Do you have any plans to include it in Version 2, or something similar?

I like the new brushes- the ability to draw ridges is a great idea. :) I also like the absolute heights function- maybe you have an idea towards real world units in Version 2 ?? :)

Looking forward to version 2!

Hi Criss- yes I know you are Sethren ;) Thanks for taking an interest in ME-DEM.

the -slope and +slope were based on a 2*2 point brush, and so they were no longer possible.
You can get similiar results, using the relativ brush. Take a value of 2, if you want to reduce the slope to near it to the lower parts, or 6, for nearing it to the heigher parts. "Power of Level manipulation" should be set to 100-150.
I had found, that the -slope and +slope produced unexpectable results in the area, so that -slope increases the slopes outside the inner rectangle.

In version 2 there will be another brush, more complex, where you have to set the start level, the size -means the size will not only be defined by the startlevel-, the stop level and the special action. This is the maximum control I can imagine, but the only way to simply brush a street or a canyon.

The real world units will be implemented at all. A standard setting will make it easy for startes. It will have influence to all filters, mostly the slope dependend erosions and shapes.

so version2 will be a lot of work, I expect about 6 months.

For -Slope, could I use a Lower setting with the Limiter set to the level I want to flatten to?

This is the maximum control I can imagine, but the only way to simply brush a street or a canyon.

Hey yeah- that would be very useful because the traditional way is to use a brush but you can't guaranteee the canyon floor being level, and also masks- but this has other problems.

The real world units will be implemented at all. A standard setting will make it easy for startes. It will have influence to all filters, mostly the slope dependend erosions and shapes.

Great. I think you have a lot of work to do! :)

the limiter is also good for reducing slopes, yes
