Johannes,

I tried out the new brush the last few days, and i am very happy with the results.
The introduction of e.g. a round brush was a good idea.
However, there is (in my opinion) still one situation where the brush edges are (too much) visible, i.e. when brushing on a perfectly smooth terrain with a certain height (e.g. 1000).
In this case, I think edges are inevitable (I tried out all different possible brush options).

In view of the above, I thought of a second "limiter", one which has a minimum i/o a maximum value. By this, creation of edges valleys could be avoided.
Or maybe you have another solution?

Kind regards.

Did you try to reduce the power, just below the brush forms?

Yes, I did that too.
It is a fact that the edges are less visible then, but so are (logically) also the height changes.

the problem you have, is not the brush, but the way, you have build the absolut flat terrain.
First clear the terrain, then set the brush size to maximum, the power to 200, and use absolut modus to draw quickly the flat terrain in the selected height, with noise roughness zero!
Now, you can draw on this terrain without any problems, you do not need the round brush, even the flat one works fine.
I think, you used the height correction filter for the flat discret terrain, and than changed the height correction to another value. This is the method, to make the brush form visible, for example for round craters.

Johannes,

Thanks for the advice.
Indeed I used the height correction filter first.

However, I think a second limiter (min. value) could still be useful.

You are aware, that if you use "lower" or any other method, that lowers the terrain, the limiter sets the lowest, min level, and when you rise, or use any other method that rises the terrain, the limiter sets the highest limit?

No, I was not.
Now I am, thanks.
