Does the 'Seamless' option work yet? ... is it supposed to? the docs left me confused
my own experiments show that it doesnt quite work despite a very good explaination by the docs. I can see that the corners will line up. but edges do not. -- note that I am not using the brush to modify the terrain.
I want to create some rolling hills and some extensive canyons for a game I am working on.

Some filters don't work perfectly with the seamless option. If you want a large terrain with many hills, crank up the amount of details in the random noise and then generate a high resolution terrain. You can paint in your canyons with the brush.

@kittle
in most cases you get absolute seamles terrains. Just try to combine them, but do not forget to rotate. You will not see the seamlessnees easy in the 2D view. And do not forget: First check, then generate.
Do you have a screeshot, where you do not get it to work, how you expected it, or the terrainpreset?

"do not forget to rotate"
rotate? arg.. that might be the problem. I was expecting a tileable texture-like effect.
have to go back & give it another try this evening

look here:
This is a variation of "Tsoukori_14"a Darthmagus projectpreset.
It is made of 36 terrains, all the same, no borders - no visible repitition.
9 * 4096 and 27*512 point terrains.

yep - thats the idea. and even with canyons too!
so that was done with the seamless option, and then by rotating each block?

exact, rotation by 90 or 270 degree!
