Hi Johannes,

Hereafter my first results of testing of GeoControl 2.

The testing has been done on the following PC configuration :
Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo , Intel Core 2 duo E6600 (2,40 GHz, 1066 MHz, 4MB L2 cache),
2048 MB DDR 667 MHz, NV7500LE 256/512HM, Windows Vista Premium.

First some general remarks :
- the GC page/screen does not fit exactly in my windows screen, the bottom text/line is not fully visible (rescaling/resizing?)
- view of 8192-image : looks bad (jagged) when viewed in 200-500 %zoom, further zooming in to 1000% shows the terrific results

Terrain tab :
- General :
figures/text do not always remain in their place, e.g. :
- box "width" overlaps "m"
- text under "general settings" : sometimes scrambled/overlapping
-text under "General Settings" : processing details sometimes "auf deutsch" i/o English

- Keep seed : only after second push button

Isolines :
- when one of two or more lines are selected, and a specific different "absolute/add/substract" choice is made, then all the isolines ge the same value (e.g. add). Is this normal? To be solved with another iso-layer?
- when starting from a cleared/blank terrain + painted isolines : a new terrain is created which is completely "filled" , and where the isolines have only a modification effect. In GC1 you could paint with the brush on a blank terrain to create e.g. a mountain in the middle with a flat terrain around it. You can solve this in GC2 with isolines at the border and substract, but that is not very handy working.

Also a request here : is it possible to adjust the thickness of the marker pen to the (max/min) level , e.g. a large size stroke when applying level 4 only? By this you get a better view of the result to be expected.

- Terrain shape tab :
- with filtersettings "invert" box checkmarked + generate terrain, GC2 and windows blocked, and I had to close the program.

So far for the first testing.

Otherwise the selections worked very nice.
Speed is fabulous (8192 terrains in about 20 seconds).

Kind regards.

Yes, you need a higher vertical resolution than 768. The GUI will be overworked, but for developing I need some space.

I will look, to improve that.

Such things are normal for an alpha version. Some things are fixed for next build.

- Keep seed : only after second push button

Is a bug and will be fixed.

Isolines :
- when one of two or more lines are selected, and a specific different "absolute/add/substract" choice is made, then all the isolines ge the same value (e.g. add). Is this normal? To be solved with another iso-layer?

Multiselection of isolines will be disabled. The absolute/add/subtract descibes the behavior of a layer, not a line.
For lining on a blank terrain, simply set the "random noise up to level" slider (terrain, general) to zero. You must not clear the terrain before.

Also a request here : is it possible to adjust the thickness of the marker pen to the (max/min) level , e.g. a large size stroke when applying level 4 only? By this you get a better view of the result to be expected
No, definitly not. First drawing such lines would be incredible slow. Second, those lines would loose all details. But I am planning to enable a grid, with level resolutions, so you see better, where your line will appear in a 4*4, 8*8 and so on, level.

Terrain shape tab :
- with filtersettings "invert" box checkmarked + generate terrain, GC2 and windows blocked, and I had to close the program.

Will be fixed.
