Created using the updated terrain preset for Classic Alpine. I have lowered the snowline a little bit using the Selectors functionality. Rendered in Vue 6I.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the sky does not look like the new spectral atmosphere. Imho the render looks not very much better than a GC render, of course better, but I think, Vue6 can do more.
One of the reasons to change to Vue was the new atmosphere, without that, I would have not changed.
Another problem is the resolution of the shader maps, GC exports. They are mostly ment for game productions, but in an hi end render, they have not enough details. The green is all over the same because of that it looks a bit unnatural.
So I use the exported selections, but then I add details, by using for the colour a procedural function with gradient.
Compared the a GC render, the Vue render looks much smoother. I often reduce the antialiasing to zero, to get a more crisp look. This does not work for animations, but for stills with terrains it is a good possibility.

In this image I was focusing on the terrain and not on the sky, and also on a quick render time.
Vue 6 is capable of much more interesting atmospheres than this!
This image was to try out a terrain and terrain texture map export to see what level of detail was possible, and as you say, it does not habve enough detail in places, though it is pretty good overall.
I understood that the purpose of posting renders was to focus on the terrain - after all people will not come here to find out about Vue atmospheres but about GeoControl terrains.
