Vollständige Version anzeigen : River Tool
All i have to say is WOW. This is nice. :)
I am going to try a flatter basin terrain and see if a i can get very long rivers like the Amazon or the Mississippi River.
looks really good.
Yes, amazon like is possible. On flat terrain you might have to encrease a bit the random and you might get mäander like rivers.
As long as there is a slope, no matter how low, the river will flow.
Hint: Make first with the isolines in level 4 a general slope.
Then add details in a second layer, best with add for layer.
Then reduce with the height correction the span of the terrain to a very oveall span, and you will see, very real looking rivers.
Getting Closer. I am going to be busy a while and see what this tool can do.
One more, more work to be done. ;)
I have found, that the digging gets much to deep in flat areas. Working on that.
Really. The deep parts look fine to me. I know that there are some rivers in the world that get quite deep.
I am working with a test terrain with ultra long flows.
I have a lake, which is over 3000 m deep. I think, that is a bit to deep.
Looking good Criss! :)

Good work, looks very convincing for now.
This is a combination of isos and Springs. I was able to get Springs to connect up to the main iso rivers. This was a real test for GC because the model is so basic- not a lot of noise in there, but I got pretty good results.
I find that the following worked for me on this model:
Random: 0-1
Power: max
Area : 25%
Smooth: max
or
Random: 1
Power: 25%
Area: max
Smooth: max
so from the above, it looks like Power and Area are somewhat interchangeable since they have reversed settings but I'm getting very similar results (though not identical). I'm thinking that area simply increases the power of the flow because the catchment are for that Spring is a lot greater. Cool stuff!
I like the possibility of the lakes- it's great to see a watercourse opne out into a lake and then snake off again- very natural. They can be problemmatic though- you have to control them.

A lake that is 10,000 Feet/3,000 Meters deep. Agreed, that is way to deep.
Lake Baikal located in Russia measures at 1,637 Meters deep. That is the world's deepest lake.
