Hello all !

I've been playing a lot with GC seeking for my Graal : dunes

Can some of you give me hints or "how to" about making beautiful dunes in GC... As GC is able to create so many types of terrains i'd be surprised if there wouldn't be a way to make realistic desert dunes.

I have tried it myself, without really success. So I have planned for version 2 a special dune algorithm.

Hello!

I'm new to this forum and start with my first post here.

For dunes I think there should be a selection for the angle of the dunes.
You know, dunes always have two sides. A side with a smoother or flatter slope and a side with a steeper slope, caused by the wind direction.

This direction or angle should be choosable if possible.

I have read much about dunes, and they are not half as simple as I thought at first.
There are many different types, depending on the directions, and changes of this directions during time.
At all, if I implementate a dune algorithm, it will simulate realistic dunes and give control over them.

Well I don't think, it will be easy to realize that, as there are many different influences affecting the look of dunes.

But when I see your great work on GeoControl I'm confident you will make a really good job of it ;)

they look good. If now this terrain would be combined in the project panel with the multiply method with a typical sand patch (imported greyscale) it would look like sand desert.

not really realistic dunes, but a extrem good approach. How about posting the preset file in the exchange forum?
