Still trying out some textures and procedures. Some progress so far - sub poly displacement works well with the normal map but still having trouble getting the alpha maps to not-smooth where the image is. Not very exciting looking I know, except that it is in Cinema 4D. My computer is about maxed out with 3 terrains in it. Thanks.
Nice work. Textures in C4D (even 8.5) have so much versatility they actually scare me off! Means I appreciate what you're getting here :)
Well it looks good. But still the shadows are not logical at all and so the texture.
You can reduce the memory usuage by reducing the size of the map for the terrain, (not the normal map), down to 128 or 256 should work.
Thanks both of you for the nice words. Johannes, I'm going to post a comparison render of the problem I seem to be having with the normal map. I know the shadows are not quite right but I can't figure it out yet.. Maybe someone here can.
@ Kathye, if you wish, I can send the file to yo so you can play with the textures in Cinema - I can get it to you in r9.5 or 10. It is a really big file!!!
