Anymore ideas for new fractal terrain noises like...

Turbulent Distortion/Other Displacement types faking fault formation
Veronoi
Craters
Glacial Erosion
Wind Erosion
Cracks
Ridge Noise
Gradients
Midlands
Thermal Erosion
Volcanoes

Latitude based terrain variation for creating poles and continents for those who want to try at planet heightfield mapping......

Version 2 will also have a selection tool, which can be combined with the filters, so the filters will be restricted to the selections.

I am not sure about the list for different noises. The base of GeoControl is the DLG, and this does not work with typical noises. A 1024er terrain would always have 9 octaves, a 4096 always 11. So they really would get slow.

I think, the way will be another. I will add some more filters, with special results. Somehting like volcano, glaciers, wind erosion, craters and some more effect like filters.

The Selection Tool sounds very nice... this would be very helpfull for isolating large and small pockets of terrain types as well...... :D

More effect filters sound good to me...... :)

Will a cracks filter be a problem? It might be useful to me.

what is a "cracks" filter?

The selections will be applied to the filters, not the filters to a selection. That means, you select a filter, or a group of filters, and then apply a selection to them, so that this filters will only work on the selected area.

Well, the kind of cracks that I might want would be like the kind of cracks dried-up mud gets.

not sure, that will not be so easy. I will have a look for Version 2.

please read about brush in the help. I know, that in the beginning the feeling rise up, that the brush is squared. But the squares disappear, if you use the brush in the right way. It is definitly not so easy to use, but the most powerful brush for terrains existing.
