Hi folks,
I want to merge two terrains in GC. One is a .ter-file from WM (2049) and one is a terrain in GC (4097). The ter should be positioned in the middle of the larger terrain in GC. The problem i have is, that i get cliffs at the edge of the smaller terrain. How can i lower the edges to match the bigger terrain?
Regards,
Markus

Hm, I am just thinking about that. The zero edge filter only works good, if it is used in the lower levels.
Well, the postwork in GC1 is not as far. Here you would need a postwork brush. Doesn't have WM a zero edge filter?

Unfortunately no. Well, not one I know of.

That is definitly a weak point of WM.
But another thought:
If you would use a zero edge filter or something comparable, the result would not be very nice. Such postworks destroy always the natural structures.
If you want to combine two terrains, where one is smaller, you should plan the smaller terrain from beginning as "island", else the combining produces ugly edges or deformations by using a brush, a zero edge filter or something similiar.
So my suggestion: First build an island in GC. Then do your postwork in WM (there must be have a reason for using WM I assume) and then reimport it to GC and combine it.

Cajomi: Yeah, i did try the zero edge filter and it destroyed the whole terrain structures. Your idea of making an island terrain is good, but i have an existing terrain here (made in WM) i want to merge with a simple one in WM or GC.
But there comes an idea into my mind ... hmm ... have to try that and tell you later if I have succeeded.
