Newbie questions

Hello, I have a couple of newbie questions if that's ok:

1. I've created this map with GeoControl and now I want to edit it so the map is not cut off at the edges but looks like an island. How do I do that? When I export the map to photoshop and edit it there it looses quality. What do you suggest?

2. Can I add more realism and detail with layers? How do I do that?

3. Also, if I would like the map to integrate with other maps, is it possible to generate maps that seamless integrates with this particular map? I've read about the seamless tool but then I have to generate a new map, that does not look like this one.

Hello halu and welcome.
Islands are really simple with the "zero edge" filter (general forming). Look at the filter presets for different island types.
In general you can encrease realism by using erosion, which will add details. You can also combine terrains as layers to add details. Simply switch to the "porject" panel and add a layer.
About the seamless feature of GC1 look at the help. The combining of different terrains without seams will in be in GC2, but not in the pre-release of GC2. You have to wait a bit.
