Image 001:This is using one of the standard terrains, I wanted to work with the rivers and lake feature using some tips from Cajomi (Thanks a lot Cajomi!) I have fed the terrain into Vue along with the lakes and rivers selection. (The terrain size is 4096x4096!) See for the results below! My next test is to feed these into Maxwell Render to see the change in quality.

The fine details look nice. I can see how well those tips payed off. These remind me of the Modo 203 terrains i had done in terms of the sharp refinements.

I can't wait to see what Maxwell is going to look like.

Hello Criss,

Thank you for the comments. The fine details are due to a very low strength bump mapping. The nice thing with vue is that I can make it slope dependent so it does not occur at the flatter areas.

The only thing I would like to know more about how to control beach line near the lakes. At the moment it is too steep.

Could you make a low altitude selection with the high sediment filter? Would that solve you beach problem?

Hello Criss, that sounds like a great idea. I will try it! Thanks!

By the way, here is my result with Maxwell Render. The result is just a begining. What I found is that Vue was not showing all of the water from the springs selection I made to export out the rivers and lakes as an alpha map.

How long did it take to render in Maxwell?

There is a lot of fine details there as well. Looks good.

Hello Criss,

That one took less than 5 mins.
