I am busy working at the new build.
Build 28 will have beside the bug fixes for the render engine and some other fixes and improvements a browser for presets.
But I have found, that many of the GC1 presets are not really compatible. So I have put back the both smoothing filters valley and slope smoothing to the filters.
I have also found, that soft fluvial erosion was very often used, and the new version of this filters is so much different from the old version that I will have to rework also this filter to make it more fitting to the GC1 version. This should be no problem with new terrain settings of GC2, because at time soft fluvial and thin flows are very similiar.

Very cool news Johannes.
Particularly for render engine bugfixing and browser presets.
When you think to release build 28? I think that most of us can't wait for that new toy (or work tool for someone...) :D
One question: reading your previous post about filters fitting on GC1 do you think to continue updatings of both GC1 and GC2 or do you think to definitively move on GC2?

The browser (terrain presets) is working so far.
But all the presets (mostly the artist presets) must be reworked, generated, a bit textured and rendered.
Also, the rework of fluvial soft will take some time.
It is really not easy to say how long this will take. May be 7 days.

And about this question?

In general there will also bug fixes for GC1, but no really updates. I am still waiting on some feedback/bug reports for the beta 1.14 of GC1.

It might be possible, that there will be a reduced version of GC2, sometimes, for a lower price.

I'll certainly find keeping hold of GC 1 very useful. The realtime Brush tool is still perfect for certain tasks/ situations.

Any idea of when we will be able to pre-order GC2?

I hope in 2 weeks.
Most of the admin work is done. Website is prepared. Shop also.

I am working on adjustments to get all the presets compatible to GC2 and the preset browser. Then the webinstallation of the keygenerator has to be done and also a new demo must be extracted, that's all.

I think the browser idea for presets is a great idea and should go a long way to increase your sales. I would make that a prominent feature in any marketing you do.

Any idea when build 28 will be available? - I was right in the middle of something when build 27 timed out :)
