Would such an effect like this be possible some day. To me it looks like it involves some serious fluid dynamics and thus might be hard to code such wide flowing fans. This would be very nice for lava flows as well if such a filter was created. Also in certain parts the flow tends to ripple while other parts are more smoothed out. There is even small-scale and large-scale fracturing were some parts have dryed.
This is basically a piedmont glacier- or certainly the same mechanics. Why not use isolines? It's always better to get it procedurally imo but isos could do that easily.

I'd have no idea how to do this with isolines. I tend to think this effect is more complicated and requires functions that are just not present in GeoControl yet. There is just a lot of flow dynamics there but perhaps an inverse high-sediment erosion might do the trick but still doubtful with the effect. I will try and see what i can do with the current functions.

This should be possible right now with thin flows sediment.
If you restrict the starting points by using a selection, set the "more sediments" to a very high value and also a higher sharpness, for the light terraced appearence, and ensure, that for the small part the terrain is there deep enough, by using a higher general strength, it should work.
Not exact the same as in the image, but should work.
