Vollständige Version anzeigen : Launch of GC2
For the launch of GC2 we plan to intensify our marketing. Therefore it would be helpfull to have a list of references. So please be so kind, to let us know, in which company for which project GC is used and if you allow us to use that information for marketing.
Thank you

Hi,
I am not actually using GC for a specific project or so (e.g. in a company), but as a photographer I sometimes use it to build terrains to be imported in Bryce6, which I then combine with my (non commercial) photographic work (see website www.digitalis.be, click at the right side on "models").
I have already made an agreement with Johannes to use some of my images on this site, and if you are interested, I could create some more new ones. I suggest we wait until Johannes is back to settle this matter.
It is of course possible that in the future I could use GC for a specific project.
Kind regards.
Hi Manfred, you could quote from the ME-DEM Project. We're a hobbyist non-profit project, but GC is highly regarded over there.

Hi Manfred,
GeoControl is being used on the MMORPG Vernian Worlds to generate all the surface based terrain and some of the under water terrain. Currently holding out for GC2's ability to tile and increase detail on zoom, but if that feature doesn't come to pass then I'll be using other methods for adding greater detail, and sticking with GC1 for the general appearance of the terrain.

Hi,
We here at RS Digital Studio (just us two husband and wife team) are developing a game for commercial release. I cannot disclose what this game is however it's a FPS Action, Adventure, Fantasy. Geo-Control is being used to create the World this game will take place in. We own Leveller, World Machine, Geo-Control, L3DT, Terragen, and Vue. 90% of our terrain is now done in Geo-Control with Leveller and L3DT now being used pretty much as cleanup applications and map generators, although in saying that we are starting to use Geo-Control's Selection Maps for this as well. We use Vue to bring in our terrains for visualisation and texture creation. It is a brilliant piece of work, but the only down side is in the game industry we don't get to show the full amount of detail that Geo-Control is capable of producing. More people need to discover this great tool and we can see it completely dominating terrain creation software genré. On a happy note I plan to also mention Geo-Control in the credits of our game on completion :o) We are eagerly awaiting release of CG2.

much agreed - i'm an indie dev making my first game using geocontrol with unity and for me its a continual process of whittling down the nice detail to practical realtime levels - but still its all worth it for the great results you can get ; )

Hello,
I am project lead for a freeware TES4: Oblivion mod. We are planning on using GC2 for creating the landscape for our mod.
A long time ago I used the demo version of GC1 to generate a trail template of a landscape that we could use in production, a while ago we decided that it was time the landscape was re-generated to acommodate the changes we made to the general design of our project (we weren't actually planning on using the trial heightmap anyway) and therefore decided to buy GC2.
We are all definately impressed with the editor.
BTW: this is what I was able to generate for the Oblivion game engine with GC1 2 years back: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v256/zednitsa/?action=view¤t=HR3D.jpg
The image's got some seams on it and is a bit more crude than the actual terrain you see when playing the game because of the way low level-of-detail terrain meshes are generated by the engine.
I'm really looking forward to buying a license for GC2. I'm pretty sure several other projects that are affiliated with ours would be more than happy to get one for themselves too.
I'm certainly crediting you guys in our mod.
EDIT: Oh, BTW, could you give me a rough estimate of the release margins for this tool? The abscence of a workable HM is a pretty big sticking point for us at the very moment.
EDIT #2 (I'm so forgetful): Here's a linky to our forum borads (which were restarted not so long ago for reasons I'd rather not go into right now, hence the low number of posts ATM): http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=390
And this is the link to our host's project and other affiliates: http://oblivion.silgrad.com/

According to the latest news about a week ago...GC2 is very near release. A mather of days...maybe a week or two. That's the news we had from the developper last week.
