Hi,

Congratulations on a great program. Rare to find a 3d program that’s actually fun to use and your tutorials are fantastic.

At the risk of now seeming to go on to the negative stuff I have a couple of questions all to do with the isolines feature

1. I have created a landscape with the Isolines but now only want to use part of it and still export it at the maximum resolution. Is there any way of cropping the landscape to use just a selected area? The only way I can seem to find is to re-draw it.

2. Having drawn an Isoline is there any way to select it and move/resize/rotate it? Again seems one can only re-draw it.

3. When an isoline is selected and a regeneration is done is stops being selected and stops being visible which means you have to re-click the layer and then use the select tool and then switch to the remove tool. Are there any keyboard keys so that a direct selection of an isoline can be done say by holding down the crtl key.

Anyway want to end by saying what a great product. Tried using the landscape builder in Vue 7 Infinite and although very powerful just couldn’t seem to get the precision I needed to re-create landscapes I have in photos. Also they have a large number of sliders etc which have no documentation and I can’t work out how to effectively use them as there seems to be no logic behind them.

Sorry for the long post but I been bounced by both email addresses.

All the best

Hi Denis,

thanks for the compliment.

Now for your problems:

1+2+3
It is true that for all problems there is one result, simply erasure and draw it new.
It might be, that there are in a further reales a different solution, I don't know yet.

There is a logic behind all my sliders, but thats rigth, there are not documentation for all. them. You must work with try and error - I am sorry, but I am a one man enterprise :-)

Hi Johannes,

thanks for the reply.

Didn't mean your sliders. Its the ones in Vue that confuse me.

Thanks

Yeah, everything he just said about 1,2,3 I totally agree with and was hoping the same things, that these can be made to allow the user to do such things as he mentioned.
Funny too, cuz they are thee EXACT same things I kept thinking about all day today while learning this program, how it would be nice if I could hold the alt key or something and "move" an isoline to a new spot or something, or a combonation of keys or something to let you click it and rotate it to a different angle.
Those would be soo nice.
Same with the idea of the keys being used so I/we don't have to keep coming back and clicking on the pencil/eraser/select tools with the mouse pointer all the time, as that for some of us really kinda slows down the nice work flow you get going when you are in the groove cruising along hehehe ;)

And also, yes, I couldn't understand about the isoline vanishing either and being forced to keep re-selecting the ISO to force things to show the isoline you just had selected two seconds earlier? LOL

But like him, I too have to say, this is one truly killer program, and I can deal with these little things and still be a very happy camper.
Just would be nicer if they did get added/changed? :)

thanx too and I love those tutorials a ton load also..................md :)
