Hi Johannes,

You didn't understood his post.

What he is asking, it is that YOU implement the same tools that CityScape has on GeoControl.

But for a cheaper price than nineteen thousand dollars.
That it is what CityScape costs.

Hahaha, I doubt that cajomi could work this into GeoControl. This needs an interactive engine and tons of workflow and realtime feedback- All of which isnt available in GC at all.
But else this looks pretty cool to be honest. The assets are crap (textures, buildings etc all look cartoonish or like Lego ) but the interactivity and ease of construction is where the real meat is.
The only downside is (as already mentioned) the price. Its ridiculously high even if its as good as it looks.

That program is clearly developed for large gaming studio's, but I assume they
would make more money if it were priced in the $500 range. I guess they don't
have the people to support too many customers.

It seems to me there are some elements and idea's Johannes could use for GC ?

As for the textures and models, they can be exported and imported ...

Import Props and Buildings
- 3D data can be imported through COLLADA™, which is supported by a majority of industry standard tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, XSI, SketchUp, and Modo.

Export Geometry
- Geometry created within the editor, such as road and terrain meshes, is exported through COLLADA™, allowing many popular modeling packages to import the environments easily.

Export Layout Data
- Layout data including prop placement information, culling hierarchies, and level of detail data, can be exported to COLLADA™ with a variety of different scene grouping options. CityScape ensures that exported scenes are optimized for real-time rendering engines.

this looks much cooler, and for a mere $4k ;)

heightmaps could be brought in from GC and the city build accordingly...
