Hello All,
I am completely new to Geocontrol, and have not even installed a demo yet. But I have something rather specific in mind, and would appreciate comments on if it is easy to do, before I start trying to work with a demo of the package.

My main interest is astronomical art, and in particular planetary landscapes. And almost all of them have craters, lots and lots of craters! The image of one big crater on the Vue Cornucopia page for the product really caught my eye - it looks completely convincng for one big crater, the best I have seen. Very reminicent of Meteor Crater in Arizona.

But I'd be even more interested in a landscape with many craters, perhaps even ideally multiple layers of craters.

So is this possible with Geocontrol 2? And is there some sort of preset style option to generate them, or would I have to hand craft each crater on each landscape?

Thanks,
Nick

Starbase1,
You can generate craters very easily with GC2. I tried it out using isolines and this took less than 4 minutes to complete from starting GC2 up. It is just a sketch with no refinements but you can see what it could do (i.e. much better if you put some time in). I rendered this in GC2 but you could export it into Vue (or similar) to work on the texture to give it a more authentic look. Do buy the product and join in the fun.

Many thanks for taking the time to post that, but it is not really what I was after...

Realistice craters tend to be duig in at the centre, and the ejecta forms much less sharp walls...

Also, I was more interested on if it is possible to get musch denser craters, including many, many more small ones. I don't think it would be practical to draw them all in, but would require some sort of precedural or automatic approach...

Thanks again,
Nick
