Default Controling vertical surfaces and ridges

Hello,

I'm having an issue trying to control the look of some vertical surfaces.
If you look at the attached render I have highlighted an area in red. What I want is to make this surface as featureless as possible, without the vertical ridges and keep only the big ridges that are outside and below the highlighted area. In other words I want to get rid of that saw tooth effect and have the upper vertical area look pretty much like the one in the attached reference photograph. I know that I'm doing something wrong somewhere, I just don't know what? Could you please tell me if you ran into this before and how could I fix it?
(I have also attached the height map I generated with Geocontrol).

Thanks!
Andrei

Andrei,
Have you looked at using the Slope Smoothing filter in combination with a selector? I think it should work.
