Hey everybody!
I've been gone quiet sometime. Because of 'real life' I was forced to take a break from things for a while and get a 'grown up' job. Then I went and fell ill with pneumonia of all things, and finishing that off this week with a regular does of chest infection. Oh joy.But between all that I also finally upgraded my PC to a behemoth, needed for the work I'd be doing. Being Vista 64bit It's taken sometime to get everything I need running, and quite costly, and just realized something.. I don't have a working link or backup of my GeoControl setup anymore. Does anyone know how we can get our setup for the software we bought when it's link from the other site (which we're given upon payment) no longer works? I'd really quite like to get back into working on things and check out GC2 before I upgrade. But don't relish the thought of having to re-purchase what I already bought, just to get a download link to it again heh. So how is everyone? How's all those great projects I remember from last September going for you guys? How's GC2 shaping up? Do we have that tile/zoom effect myself and a few others were harping on about and begging to be included? *grins* |

Hi and welcome back.
you can download gc1 from here: www.cajomi.de/Download/GeoControl1.13_Setup.exe With your licence key you can run the GC2 builds. But at time, since yesterday, the build 28 has just expired and so you have to wait until tomorrow, when I upload the next build. The tiling and zoom effect is still not implemented. But it is the next developed feature. |

I'm back, again haha. Well actually I'm currently sat thousands of miles from home, in a small town in the middle of Indiana on a huge farm with tons of spooky forests out at the back beyond the fields (where only the other day two of us discovered very unusual footprints of some large animal that had been chasing a deer), being hugely inspired by my surroundings, redoing a whole bunch of stuff on my projects Design document, while at the same time recovering from a second bout of illness (typical I'd get sick while in the US huh? lol) and got to remembering GeoControl and wondering how it's been going.
I'm very glad to see Cajomi is back on his feet! I also see GC2 is out now. But my real question is can it do the zoomed in tiles from a terrain yet? i'm reluctant to upgrade at all at this point as GC1 can do for me all what GC2 can offer me, unless this tile feature has been added by now, in which case I could definitely still make use of the upgrade. How are the other big terrain projects mentioned on this forum doing too? I remember there were quite a few of us a few months back, I'd be curious to see how well the others are progressing. I know I could have probably made a new thread for this, but I didn't want to clutter things up. |

Hi Jules Verne,
what weather you have in Indiana? I should like to go in the wilderness, but thats impossible in Germany. I am bach, but not 100%, I am still in rehabilitation. So I can programming GC2 only 50%. ![]() Youre features request is comming, I think in beginning of 2009. Merry Christmas Johannes |

Hey!
The weather is COLD here right now. Colder than a Brit is generally used to, so I'm loving it! Not had much snow though which is a shame, cause I was really hoping to see real snow (again, something you don't get much in England these days, heh) The wilderness is great for inspiration, the 70 ache's they got here has what feels like a spattering of all types of forests out at the back and a couple of creeks. For fantasy based idea's it's great. Shame the quad broke though, had fun riding on that during the summer when I was here last hehe.I thought there would be quite a bit of wilderness out there around Germany? There's always Switzerland though and the alps! They're all on my list to visit someday. Glad you're doing better, give it time you'll be back to full strength I know it. ![]() Merry Christmas to you too and get well soon! Looking forward to the features coming soon, could well be in time for when I get home and earn some money to upgrade with hehe. I certainly could make use of it, had a eureka moment while out here that will let me increase the size of my game world to far larger than I thought would be possible, while barely using any extra resources. So the thought of being able to fill all that up with beautifully calculated terrain sends shivers up my spine, lol. The whole tile type system would fit absolutely perfectly for how I'm working too, really be a huge time saver. Who needs giant resolution height maps when there's tricks like these available eh? ![]() Take care! ![]() |
