This is the introduction into GeoControl2. It explains the GUI, the workflow and some tools and is the base for the other training videos.
You can download it here: www.cajomi.de/Download/intro.wmv 23 MB |

Nice "bird'seye" of GC2.
One question: do you think to add all these tuts in the help? Some of them (like this one) show function disabled or bug that has to be fixed. |

For the pre-release I will have to offer this trainings videos, with shown disabled functions or may be a bug.
But I will not inlcude them in the help directly, else the setup would be very large, about 200 MB. The alpha section will be opended for every one, so that the videos can be downloaded from here. No matter how I'll do it, there will be problems with the server when the open testing for GC1 owners starts, and I hope, that solving the video download this way, we will get more traffic here and that the downloads will spread a bit over the time, so that the server will not be overloaded that much. BTW: That was no bug. After setting a filter to disable in the pw filter list, you first have to push "Do postwork" to enable it, else the change is not saved. When i talked about bugs that have to be fixed, it was a generic reference, not concerned about a particular tut (sometimes you talk into some tuts that "...maybe is a bug that have to be fixed...).

Oh, well, there is no real chance to get the pre-release total bug free. There will also be new features added and so new chances for bugs in the next beta versions, after the pre-release.
I simply hope, that the users will understand that. |

Sorry Johannes: maybe (as usual...) i've expressed myself badly.
I agree with you that final user will understand that GC2 can have some bug that have to be fixed, but originally my replies concerned about possibility to include tuts, into final release, that contains words like "...this is a bug that have to be fixed...". You've already answered that tuts are accessible only through forum alpha section. |

This tutorial gives adequate information to get started in the new GUI. The narration was slow enough to view the screen and understand what was happening on screen. Good job.

Very good tutorial for beginers like myself, especially the concept of progressive levels of fractal "growth" as the terraine is formed. I am a photographer with most of my experience in Photoshop. Seeing the black and white images of the fractal patterns in Vue's function editor really helped visualise the process as does the 2D view here in GC2. I am very excited by the realism that Cajomi has achieve with his math interactions and the interface is coming along nicely. Keep up the good work C!
